We use history to help us see into the future every day. That idea can be applied
to AIMS’ work of getting the Gospel to all who have not heard it. We know we
are making progress, but what fruit has really been produced?
I’ve personally experienced many times how AIMS principles are well-received
and put into practice in extremely varied cultural settings. The results are
fantastic and increasing. Fruit is being produced and harvested.
More fruit is ripening. Therefore, more harvesters are needed. Preparation of
those harvesters is what AIMS is doing. Let’s look at how it has gone so far.
When the Iron Curtain came down in 1990, AIMS’ strategy and ministry was
foundational in establishing over 3000 churches in the former Soviet Union.
AIMS-trained people were in Croatia when Albania opened up and within a week had a huge crusade in
Tirana, where many came to salvation and gatherings of believers were started that led to the planting of a
number of churches.
To shorten the story, there have been trainings and implementations in areas as diverse as China, India,
Armenia, Indonesia, Ukraine, Pakistan, Sub-Saharan Africa. Now AIMS is training believers in the crucial
Middle East, where we see the potential of hundreds of committed missionaries going where no western
person can go. I’ve witnessed churches resulting from this training which are flourishing and multiplying.
Those trained by AIMS are continuing to train others, so the impact is becoming exponential. We know
conservatively that we have been able to see 28,000 churches planted as a result of AIMS’ training. Some
are small, but many are large. I was with Dr. Foltz in a seven year-old church of three thousand that had
established three other churches that same year and many others before that.
In the 23 years AIMS has been operating, with an estimated 50 believers meeting per church, this would
count 1,400,000 people meeting regularly. Easily over 2 million that we know of have received Christ as
Savior. I visited a church in India where six months after a pastor attended an AIMS’ seminar, they had
planted one church of around 50 people. We went with them to another village where 15 men (nearly the
whole town) were waiting to be baptized.
Where would these people be without AIMS? We don’t know. God has not raised up another
organization/training tool like AIMS so far. In China the demand for our training DVD dubbed into
Mandarin is great. The Chinese plan from there is to take the Gospel the rest of the way around the world
to their west. We need funds to get that teaching distributed. DVDs are much safer and more cost efficient
than having seminars there.
And now, opportunity arises to reach deeply into 20+ Middle East countries, including putting AIMS’
teaching in Arabic on DVDs, training of trainers and humanitarian outreaches.
The increasing harvest of fruit produced for the Kingdom will spread even faster now with the many
already trained. There is a reservoir of those whose hearts are opened to be trained and go. There is a great
hunger for God’s Word. We need you to continue to help us in prayer, finances, and even being trained to
help take first-level training to the many places in the world where we have invitations. Your reward will
be great here and in the world to come.
We could even extrapolate this study into the future -- if our partners have planted 4000 churches the first
seven years, 8000 the second seven years and 16,500 the third seven years, we could expect 32,000 in the
next seven. But wait, why shouldn’t it be more? Could you believe with us for all that we need in order
to see 50,000 more churches planted as a result of AIMS’ training in the next seven years?
