Wells of Salvation

Description: Description: In Muslim villages in Ethiopia, AIMS is partnering with national missionaries and a well drilling organization to bring fresh water to unreached villages. These wells are called 'Wells of Salvation'.

In Muslim villages in Ethiopia, the communities are desperate for something you and I take for granted every day; accessible drinking water. The women, usually the younger girls, of these communities, will walk nearly three hours to get water. Not only is it exhausting to carry heavy jugs of water back to the village, but it is also dangerous, many of the women have been beaten and sexually attacked. A solution is needed quickly.

The AIMS trained missionaries working among them have asked us to help bring fresh water to these needy people. Thus, we are now partnering with an organization that specializes in training nationals how to drill and maintain water wells in such remote communities. The system our partners use does not require expensive machines, generators, or electric pumps. Rather, they train small national teams how to drill wells with basic, hand powered equipment constructed with local, low-cost materials. They also provide training on how to maintain the wells for years to come.

Our immediate need is to train a team of nationals how to drill the wells, and for 10 sets of well drilling equipment. Will you help us empower our Ethiopian friends by giving them the tools they need to open the Wells of Salvation for a lost and dying people? These missionaries have seen more than 40,000 souls come to Christ, more than half of whom were Muslims. They are worth the investment of our time and money. Please pray about how you can be involved and help us take the gospel to these people by giving them the true Living Water.

Can you believe that the cost of drilling and outfitting a well is only $1,500? These wells will provide water for Muslim families, but more importantly it will empower national missionaries to offer them the Living Water of Jesus Christ. The next time you have a glass of cool, clean water or you buy a bottle of purified, mountain spring water remember those that are lacking this basic, essential need. And then partner with us financially so we can bring the gift of water and of life in Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
