Mobilization Program in India
Equips 1,000 Pastors

AIMS News: Posted 6/1/2005

In April, our partners at Hindustand Bible Institute (HBI) in Chennai, India, reported that 997 Indian pastors from 14 different states in India had been trained through their Church Mobilization Pastors Training (CMPT) program -- an effort they jointly began with AIMS.

The CMPT program began when Bobby Gupta, president of HBI, has a vision to train national pastors and missionaries to plan one million churches throughout India. Gupta partnered with AIMS to create a cohort-model program that would train pastors how to create a mission and vision statement, discipleship, church planting strategies, and growing a Great Commission Church.

Since the program began in 2003, 519 hve completed all five modules and have agreed to plant a minimum of 5 churches each among unreached people groups in India. An additional 478 pastors plan to graduate this year. Collectively, these pastors have formed networks to adopt 62 unreached people groups in India.

"We would like to thank AIMS for its partnership in equipping the national pastors to mobilize their local churches to grow as a Great Commission Church to disciple India for Christ," said our partner at HBI. "We truly appreciate all you have jointly done to reach and disciple India for Christ."
