AIMS Refocuses International Mobilization Strategy on
Global Epicenters
AIMS
News: Posted 4/1/2006
For more than twenty years, AIMS has
mobilized and equipped churches and church movements
around the globe to launch initiatives to reach the
worldís least reached people groups. During those
years, we have developed lasting partnerships with key
leaders and organizations throughout regions that have
the potential to greatly increase the Kingdom of God.
As AIMS enters a new era of ministry,
our team has decided to focus our efforts on six key
regions that could impact the world for Jesus Christ
and bring the completion of the Great Com-mission within
our reach.
"Throughout
the next several years, we will focus on areas that
we call epicenters," said Daniel Crosby, president
of AIMS. "We believe that these epicenters will
be focal points through which the earth will be shaken
and the unreached will be reached with the Gospel of
Jesus Christ."
Building
on the foundation begun by Dr. Howard Foltz, founder
and CEO of AIMS, Crosby has developed a five-year plan
to mobilize India, the Malay World, the Horn of Africa,
Tanzania, and the United States to become strategically
involved in advancing the Gospel throughout their respective
regions and eventually the world.
What
is an Epicenter?
For many of us, the images of the Asian
Tsunami are still etched in our memory. A single earthquake
off the coast of Indonesia rippled throughout the Indian
Ocean and sent a wall of water crashing into more than
a dozen Asian and African countries. In an instant,
millions of lives were changed forever. Those who survived
that devastating day in December will carry the memory
with them the rest of their lives. Within a few hours,
the shockwaves of the disaster had reached around the
world, and each person who heard the news was somehow
changed.
What
if the Gospel could make a similar impact, but in positive
manner? What if true revival began in key regions and
began to spread throughout the world - not missing any
nation, tribe, or tongue? What if every person who heard
about the Good News of Jesus Christ was changed for
eternity?
At AIMS, we believe this could happen.
Building on existing partnerships within each region,
AIMS will train key leaders, church networks and denominations
to network together and begin massive church movements
among unreached people groups within that epicenter
that will rapidly expand throughout each region. Each
ripple effect has the potential to impact hundreds of
tribes and villages that have never once heard the Gospel.
For
the next several years, AIMS will focus 80% of its worldwide
mobilization efforts on developing these six epicenters.
AIMS will continue to use Equipping
for the Harvest conferences to train
key leaders and church networks within each region,
but each epicenter will have a unique strategy. AIMS
will continue to use 20% of its time to develop partnerships
and train leaders in other regions around the world.
